A little back story: The original idea was to call the book “The Vagina Catalog” Ha! It was a silly wordplay I thought up because I was so moved after watching the HBO special that Eve Ensler made where she did all of the Vagina Monologues herself. She took us into her dressing room where we see all of the fun vulva puppets and things she’s accumulated over the years as gifts and such, she talks to some of the women she based the monologues on, as well as asking them the questions “what do you call your vagina?” and “what would it wear?” Later, I tried on the name “The Ladies’ Downtown Journal” and finally landed on the “Moss Beauty LOOKBOOK” which will forever haunt me because spell check wants it to be “COOKBOOK” but that’s ok… just know it’s not a book of recipes for using meat curtains or pussy juice. It’s a hairstyle magazine-ish created to show clients what other women are doing “down there” in a healing, appropriate, lady-positive, playful (but not snarky or salacious) piece of literature to be used in the professional esthetics setting or with lady-friends.
